pro forma

誤解されているように思える、
法務部門でよく扱う英単語の一つに、
「pro forma」があります。

どうも、
「見積もりの」という意味に引っ張られてしまっている人が多いように感じますが、
特に契約書類の文脈で使用される場合には、
「standard」という意味で使われている場合がほとんどだと思います。


つまり、
「標準基本契約書」や「標準約款」における、
「標準の」という意味で、
「pro forma」は使われています。


英辞郎on the WEBの影響力は非常に大きいと思いますので、
早急に定義を追加してもらいたいところですが、
残念ながら、
